Halibut/Salmon Fishing
Our final group of the spring was several families who came together and booked the entire lodge for the week. They enjoyed a fun trip fishing together, hunting together and exploring the island. They fished the streams even though the weather wasn't the best for the first few days of their stay they got to catch some fish. They spent some time canoeing the bay and exploring the tide flats near the mouth of the Thorne River. They also got to try halibut fishing for a few days. As you can see by the pictures below they had a great time. They also a got a bear during their trip but I don't have any pictures to share (UPDATED PIC BELOW).
With bear season ending in a few days we are turning our focus to saltwater fishing and soon, salmon fishing in the rivers. There are a few sockeye in the rivers now but soon the chum salmon runs will start and then pinks and coho will soon follow. I'll keep you posted.
