Halibut/Salmon Fishing

Well the Saltwater fishing is going strong. We are enjoying a warmer than average summer with most of the month having been around 70 degrees, with some days topping 80. When we get the warm weather fronts it brings calm waters on the straits. As you can see from the picture below it is more sunscreen weather than it is sweatshirt weather.

Jim has been getting our clients into an amazing amount of halibut so far. Below is a picture of him about to harpoon a nice halibut. For those that don't know harpooning the halibut makes it much easier to get the big fish to and into the boat.

Anyone want Fish & Chips?

The Dollie Vardon and Trout fishing was good but now the salmon runs have taken over the streams. Right now the rivers have a good number of salmon in them. We de need some more rain but even with the low water many people have been catching some Coho in the streams. There a lot of Pink Salmon as well. The bay is full of Pink Salmon waiting to come in. You can see fishing jumping in every direction.
