Steelhead Fishing

First of all I would like to thank Glenn and Taj from Hawg Quest, and Bill Black from Spirit River for taking the time to stop by and catch a ton of Steelhead. We had a great time with you guys and we can't wait to see how the show will come out. I know it will be great because the fishing was great. For those of you who have signed up for our newsletter I will let you know when the show will air.

If you don't get the newsletter you can sign up at newsletter(at)thornebaylodge.com.

Glenn, Taj, and Bill left on Thursday. Bruce and Jake from Clackacraft driftboats and Nick Amato from Salmon Trout Steelheader magazine were left to catch fish on their own. That is exactly what they did. With the final two days of fishing we hit the rivers rain or shine until they left yesterday morning. Bruce was so excited that he woke up early on Friday to fish the Thorne before everyone else woke up. He was back to the lodge with fish stories before most of us had even had our first cup of coffee. Bruce and the rest of the gang left yesterday and I have to say it was an amazing week. The Steelhead fishing has been spectacular so far this spring. We finished the week catching a record number of Steelhead. I'm not going to post the numbers because it's not about how many fish we caught. It's about enjoying your time here and I know everyone that was here this week had a great time. We will have some video clips up on the website soon. For now you will have to enjoy these pictures. Many of these great pictures were taken by Nick Amato, of Frank Amato publications, during his stay.

P.S. We also saw a Black Bear swimming across a narrow part of the bay while we were coming back from pulling our shrimp pots. I have also heard of several hunters that have had success this week.

Fresh prawns and dungeness crab for dinner!

We had a very good week!
